Applications to remote jobs begin to wane while applications to hybrid jobs continue to grow.  

  • In June 2023, 9.6% (1 in 10) of U.S. paid job postings on LinkedIn offered remote work versus 13.1% (1 in 7) for hybrid work. In June 2022 last year, remote jobs accounted for 17.8% of U.S. paid jobs and have been steadily declining since then, while hybrid jobs have increased from 7.6% during the same time frame. However, hybrid jobs have now declined for four straight months from a peak of 15.1% in February 2023.
  • In June 2023, paid remote jobs on LinkedIn (9.6% of all paid jobs) attracted nearly half of applications (44.9%) and an outsized proportion of views (39.5%) while paid hybrid jobs (13.1%) attracted a slightly higher proportion of views (20.2%) and applications (20%). Applications to remote jobs have decreased from 53% in June 2022 last year to 44.9% in June 2023 while hybrid job applications have increased from 13% to 20% during the same time.
  • 56.9% of job applicants applied to a remote or hybrid job in June 2023, increasing from 52.1% in June 2022 last year.
