Darrell earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Louisiana with Advanced Studies at Louisiana State University and experience in public accounting, computer systems marketing and sales and owner of insurance agencies.

He is a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War era, Desert Storm and the Bosnian Conflict as a Commander, Deputy G-1 and G-3 Action Officer.
